halfway already?

today was a big day for our family of 4 1/2....today we had our 20 week/halfway ultrasound and checkup.
halfway...its hard to believe! up on the big screen we saw a cute little profile with a quick glimpse of baby's little lips and chin and nose. he or she was facing up the whole time. all the measurements and checks during the ultrasound for the baby's brain and organs and heart are all healthy and growing on track. the whole thing is incredible. actually seeing a baby growing inside of me...feeling the baby kick and nudge during the ultrasound and at the same time noticing my little girls' big eyes as they try and figure it all out too. i feel so grateful for our baby number 3 and for all of these big and little milestones along the way.
i was anxious to get to this point....to start feeling the baby move and kick, to get a good report and see the baby at 20 weeks and to have all the blood tests behind us...and now here we are. i feel calm and extra thankful tonight...at my new home, relaxing while the thunderstorm rumbles outside, knowing sammy and kinsley are asleep down the hall and all the time reminded of just how lucky i am, with tiny baby nudges in my belly.


the look on kinsley's face was full of concern and she stared with BIG eyes....samantha had her own babydoll especially picked out for the trip and was very excited to hear the boom boom of the baby's heartbeat!

tonight's bedtime snack and my new pregnant favorite....smores waffle and blueberries, not necessarily together hehehe (after you toast your waffle, put chocolate chips and marshmallows on top and put in toaster to broil until its melted, yum!)
