sweet september

somehow i managed to fall a little behind my weekly blog updates but thats only because of how fun filled and sweet our month of september has been so far. check it out...

my first race

woke up early labor day weekend to run in my very first race, the John Clay Labor Day 5K down at fleischmann park. this was a huge goal of mine...something i have always wanted to do and be able to do. no walking, no stops, no not-making it. i had trained for the ten weeks before the race following a schedule called, from couch to 5k. hottest and hardest ten weeks of sticking with it....but man was it worth it!

kinsley jane turns 9 months

another healthy, smooth checkup for kinsley cakes. she weighs 17.9 lbs and is 27 inches both in the 25%. she wears her nine month clothes perfectly and is standing on her own. she pulls up on everything, lets go and stands practicing her balance. a few steps of cruising along the furniture. lots of fast crawling. her fifth and six tooth are almost out. still early to bed, around 6:45. loud baby babbling as soon as she sits in her high chair...as if she is telling you what she would like to eat and how to prepare it. hehe. holds her own water cup and loves cheerios!

finally caught her scrunchy face on camera....this face started back when she was 6 months old and starting to teethe. it just cracks me up

she now eats finger foods and what we eat. roasted chicken, green beans, cheese cubes, melon, bananas, noodles, soft bagel with jelly. she LOVES it and has to do it herself. throw in drinking a little breast milk from a cup and whole milk yobaby yogurt and this girl is on her way to being a big eater!

(this was shortly before she dumped the plate upside down and pitched it overboard. remind me never to do that again.)

helping in the kitchen(sammy really is helping by setting the table)...kinsley has the same tricks....take towels off and drag them around kitchen, unload tupperware cabinet, crawl as fast as possible to cole's water bowl, sneak into the bathroom to stand up at the potty, i know there's more....

Happy Fall

family beach day

tyler came up with an idea to get everyone together and head to the beach for the day. such a fun time. spent about 5 hours playing and hanging out. we grilled hotdogs and played paddle ball. what a sunday!





these two played together in their own little world, wading around in the water and collecting things for their bucket. besides to wipe their eyes from the salty water on grandpa tom's towel or get a quick drink they were down at the waters edge together the whole day
