our little student

august 24th, 2010 - our little two year old headed off to her first day of preschool. we had talked about it and gotten really excited over the past few months. she had practiced with her new backpack and we picked out a new dress at the store. the day finally arrived and no matter how much I tried to hold on.....it was a day to let go and feel confident in the shining star i knew she would be in school. her daddy and mimi and grammy took lots of photos to capture the big morning since I couldn't be there. she walked in by herself and after a few minutes of her daddy setting her up with a puzzle he did it....left her there and walked away.(harder than he thought it would be) she kept asking why when he told her he had to go to work but there were no tears or looking back. after a few minutes of shyness she jumped right in and was a happy little student for her teacher all week.

each afternoon her backpack comes home with her school folder full of artwork and a daily progress report from her teacher, explaining what she liked best about the morning and how she did. love it.....



we are so proud of you samantha macKintosh for being so brave and for being such a good little student. you amaze us more and more each day with your confidence and sunny outlook. we love you and feel so grateful for your first experience at school. what a special preschool you get to go to....the teachers and your new classmates and of course your mimi are all there helping to make it such a happy place. congrats to all of her friends and playmates for their GREAT first days of school too.
