we're on a roll....
last week was a big week of accomplishments for our little two-year old....she graduated from her second swim class after a lot of hard work AND she had her first week of napping and sleeping at night in her big-girl bed. it seemed like my baby was surely growing up and there was no turning back....here's to being able to be home to experience all of the little daily routines with my sammy girl and to feeling very proud of the sweet girl she is becoming. ps. finally finished her "pink" room as she calls it. even though i haven't hung her pictures or shelf up yet.

last monday we talked all day about how she was going to sleep in her big girl bed that night. she was so excited and talked all about it. she helped me put her new fairy sheets on and picked out her three favorite friends (elmo, purple baby and amy) and climbed into bed for a few bedtime stories. all was going fine however i kept wondering...how many times will she get up or will she be scared and not sleep, who knows right? when it was finally time to tuck her in she asked to do anything else but stay in her bed for a good couple of minutes. crib mommy, chair, couch peeeease, more books, daddy's bed, and the list went on. but no tears and a short conversation later she layed her head on the pillow (seems funny she never had a pillow before) and it was off to dream land for her. we checked on her a million times that night since i only have an audio monitor in there now. she was perfectly comfy and sleeping soundly. so that was it. naptime and bedtime she lays right down, and although i wonder if we're having beginners luck, we couldn't be more proud that she understands bedtime in her new room. and to think i pictured it as WAY more. seems like yesterday i was sad over moving her from the wooden cradle to her big crib and now this. wow!

sammy's favorite part...playing in her closet/playroom. just enough room to color and play.

we were thrilled with how much samantha learned from fernanda the past few weeks she went to her lessons. last fall when she went she learned survival floating and the basics. this time she turned her floating into a swim-float-swim sequence and each day she was getting stronger and stronger. it is amazing to see her so determined and strong. she has turned into a real fish and asks to swim every day. thank you again fernanda for loving our sammy mac.
