spring break.. to the KEYS baby!
we couldn't have celebrated spring break any better than our family trip to the Keys. we stayed at Hawks Cay Resort and loved every minute of our fun in the sun. we were thankful to spend quality time together with Mimi and Pop Pop and it was exciting checking out a new place. what a resort...this place is GREAT for families. we spent each day splashing in the pool and at the pirate kids area and had fun taking walks and playing tennis too. it was cozy and relaxing to eat a few meals at the condo we stayed in which had the best porch right on a beautiful waterway. the girls loved watching the dolphins at their research center onsite and they even got to kayak with pop pop. tyler and dad and i had fun snorkeling off shore one afternoon too. what fun memories!!
we arrived...finally...whew...that was a long car trip. hehehe

our home away from home...

i love it when ty carries one of our sweet peas....so precious...it always crosses my mind that one day they will be too big for that. daddy holds are the best.

keeping mommy on her toes near the edge of the dock. this was our backyard!!

watching the beautiful dolphins..

sunset...water water everywhere....surrounded by God's beauty.

we logged some serious pool time...

our snorkeling trip was amazing...fish and clear beautiful water...we followed a sea turtle when all of a sudden a sea turtle three times its size swam by...i felt like we were in a movie. of course i didn't let dad or ty out of my sight...easy for me to get the heebie-jeebies. hehehe

and mimi treated the girls to island beaded hairdos...they were SO excited!

a trip wouldn't be complete without someone getting sick...of course it was croup for Thomas the first night we got there. (lets just point out he had no symptoms before we left and that first drop of a runny nose on the car ride there was the beginning. ugh) so we called our wonderful pediatrician and visited the nearest Walgreens for a prescription. thankfully he came around...whew

i will never forget the last night of our stay....we ate outside under pretty strings of lights and the stars and moon. we had yummy drinks and pizza and listened to music as the kids ran around and we relaxed. such a neat atmosphere. on our walk by the pool before we left the girls were amazed to see people swimming at night in the pool. i got some fun mom points that night when i surprised them and said come on lets jump in in our clothes! their happy faces i will always remember...
