a new school year begins....
we began another new school year yesterday. a new beginning for both of my girls this time. (a big step for mommy too, sigh)
my big girls headed off to their first day of Kindergarten and first day of Preschool. i hardly kept my emotions together but really the day went so smooth. i will remember holding their hands so tightly and their hugs and kisses before i said goodbye that morning. both girls happy and a little nervous and both had a super first day.
still cant believe my sammy mac is a kindergartener. i can remember worrying about her nap schedule as a newborn, her first birthday like it was yesterday...i only know now and with each passing month how much faster time really is slipping by. today i look at her face.... her sparkly hazel eyes and curly long hair , her one wiggly tooth and freckly nose....i find myself just staring. taking her all in. loving her toddler-growing-into-a-girl look. i want to freeze time but in the mean time i took a million pictures and we talked hours and hours about what the first day would be like. she is ready for kinder....i cant wait to see her shine!

my little Kinsley Jane did amazing on her first day too. we were pretty sure she'd cry and be sad to leave us when we brought her the first day. she has no experience with leaving us...none. but to our surprise she gave us a kiss and a hug and turned around to play puzzles when we said goodbye. (i however had to be convinced to leave with a few tears in the hallway, thank goodness for tyler) her teacher said she played and participated all day and mimi sent us lots of pictures. what a brave girl she was. we are so proud of you kinsley girl. you are so big!

meet the teacher open house day.....

dropping off cookies for their teachers

and our back to school traditions continued....it felt like a real holiday!!!!
back to school cake...

packing up her backpack the night before

yummy dinner the night before, with our pink cake for dessert, lots of books to read before bed and sparkles sprinkled outside for good luck.

Happy FIRST day of school girls! kinder and preschool!

baby Thomas and I were not quite sure what to do that first morning with his sisters around. felt so funny.
here's to a wonderful new school year. the start of new routines and schedules. new ballet classes and soccer teams and even kindergarten homework. can't wait to see kinsley flourish with friends her own age and for samantha to begin reading. what a year it will be!
