at home
ahhhh the first two weeks home with baby Thomas....we are overflowing with love and emotions!
thank you friends and family for stopping by to visit and help...bringing dinners and lunches and sweet outfits for the big T. we are so very grateful.
the first four days Thomas and I stayed upstairs resting and nursing and taking it all in. so thankful for my supportive husband who brought meals upstairs, entertained the girls and held down the fort while I retreated with our newborn. thanks to both moms too who helped make it all possible. then as the first week finished, I ventured downstairs (slowly...my poor healing body) and we took down the Christmas decorations, played lots with the girls new Christmas things and mostly took turns loving on our THREE babies.
here are ALL of our favorite memories with baby Thomas from those first two weeks....

happy homecoming day...so special and emotional to bring home our new baby to our new home

cozy afternoon naps with mommy

i remember this scene so well with the girls...tyler holding our newborns just like this on his knees, telling stories and cuddling each night. and the biggest sister is truly in love.

first night at home...sleeping next to mommy and daddy in his cradle.
(no swaddle...what was i thinking...and so this night and the next were looooong)

she knows just how to hold him...such a little mommy

it took me many many weeks before I could take down his star basket with starbursts and the balloon from daddy...i always wanted an ITS A ____ balloon. still can't believe we have a BOY!

could be one of my most favorite pictures....a little nap in the big boy crib on day 3

to dr. shephard for his first checkup....6 days old. he weighed almost up to his birth weight at 9lbs 2oz and had a healthy checkup. we returned the very next day for a blood test they forgot to do in the hospital (say what) and circumcision and he tipped the scales at 9lbs 8oz with our favorite nurses teasing us at how fast he was growing.

that night we remembered duh....a swaddle. and he slept three hours at a time and was so comfortable!

happy one week old today!! my little sweet pea

an icecream cake and balloon for daddy's birthday party...as kinsley says happy to daddy!

his first bath! thanks to mimi for helping too

not a bad way to spend the day....couldnt think of anything better than snuggling and kissing and soaking up my newborn

week two we ventured around our culdasac...talk about WILD hehehe....

and then went right back to napping...he loves his moses basket
and that was our first two weeks with Thomas....even though it was b for busy with both girls and daddy being swamped at work and mommy riding the after birth emotions...looking back it was just right. our family of five all together. =)
