Happy Retirement Dad!

last Saturday we celebrated my Dad at a surprise retirement party where he was surrounded with all of his friends, old and new, coworkers and family. he was completely surprised, in shock and disbelief and all the while about 60 of us were able to keep this secret for weeks. he kept saying how honored he felt and how special and loved he was....the night was joyful and loud and festive. my mom sure did a wonderful job preparing his favorite foods (honey baked hams, hooters wings, mrs. gates' homemade chicken salad, aunt nancy's famous chocolate chip cookies, michaelson's specialty cake and heiniken beer). congrats dad on your retirement in only a few short days....you deserve a break from all your years of hard work and dedication to your job at the tower. here's to relaxing, kicking back, exercising and spending time outdoors, having time to do the little things you love and enjoying each day to the fullest. how exciting!

ps. just think of all the time you will have to spend with your little granddaughter....you know how she loves her Pop Pop!
